How to Configure Custom Nameservers for Your Domain

Updated 2 weeks ago 3 views

When you purchase a domain or want to connect an existing domain registered elsewhere to your YAYA Digital hosting account, you need to update your domain's nameservers. This tells the internet where your website files and emails are hosted.

Step-by-Step Instructions Step 1: Log in to your Domain Registrar Log in to the client portal or registrar where you originally purchased your domain name (e.g., GoDomains, Crazy Domains, Cloudflare, etc.).

Navigate to your Domain Portfolio, My Domains, or Domain Management page.

Step 2: Locate Nameserver Settings Click on the specific domain name you want to update.

Look for a tab or section labeled Nameservers, DNS Management, or Manage Nameservers.

Step 3: Enter Your New Nameservers Select the option to use Custom Nameservers (instead of the registrar's default ones).

Enter your assigned YAYA Digital hosting nameservers in the fields provided:

Primary Nameserver: ns1.yayadigital.com.au (or your server's specific nameserver)

Secondary Nameserver: ns2.yayadigital.com.au (or your server's specific nameserver)

Click Save Changes or Update Nameservers.

Important Note on Propagation DNS changes do not happen instantly. Global network propagation typically takes anywhere from 2 to 24 hours. During this window, your website or email might load intermittently while different internet service providers update their routing records.
